Clown Shoes

This would have to be one of the more technical trails in Whistler Bike Park. Clown Shoes starts next to the entrance to Detroit Rock City and Lower Whistler Down Hill just bellow the Joyride Drops.

Clown Shoes starts with a few turns under the Fitzsimmons Chair before heading into the trees where the fist technical features start. There are a couple of small but steep rock rolls and a ladder bridge before some sweet technical single track. The next feature is a long log ride that is high of the ground, but for safety there is a net to catch you if you fall. As with most features in Whistler Bike park there is an easier ride around.

One you cross over the Detroit Rock city, about ½ way down the trail, is where things start getting a little more technical. The first being a super steep rock roll that has a sharp corner at the bottom, which leads you onto a log ride that turns into a ladder bridge that turns to the left while dropping away probably about 6 feet.

This then leads you into a straight bit of trail that has a couple of small drops on it before crossing over Detroit Rock city again and leading into a long but fairly wide roller coaster bridge, that when wet is slippery, followed by a rooty corner into a long narrow log ride.

The trail then ends with either a rather large drop, which has not got the best landing, or an easier way round that still has a drop but about ¼ of the size. The trail then goes down a steep dirt bank before connecting up with Detroit Rock City and Lower Joyride, where you can either go on to ride Heart of Darkness or The Boneyard.

There is also an alternate entrance to this trail if you head down Detroit Rock city and just before the first ladder bridge the entrance is on your right.
